Later on we had children and I joined the Indian army and was allowed to visit my home only twice a year. While in the army I had a reoccurring dream. I would hear a voice in my sleep saying “I need you”. This happened many times while I was stationed at the border. I did not recognize this came from God.
After some trials and things I saw on the battle field, I turned my life towards God and surrendered to the lord completely. Our camp was attacked by the Pakistan army while we were passing through the border to reach some other places. Many of my colleagues were shot dead. Few of us were able to escape. One of my colleagues was shot in the leg and was not able to walk by himself. I helped him leave the area and escape. This man spoke some words to me that touched my heart in a very profound manner. He said he had seen Christ in me while I was carrying him.
This man was not a Christian nor had I ever accepted Christ as my savior. I thought, “How could he say something like that?” At that moment I realized God had opened his mouth and spoken. In the next three days I saw a vision of Christ opening His hands and asking me to work for Him. I sat down and wrote a letter to my parents and my wife and told them what had happened to me. I told them how God had talked to me through my dreams days ago and the visions I received for three nights. I resigned my position with the Indian army and traveled back to my home town were God would show me His plan for my life.
Until the moment I came to Christ I thought I enjoyed life, I had everything in the world I thought I needed. When I came to Christ I realized true enjoyment is not in the world but in Christ Jesus. I was ashamed of my past behavior. How many times I have hurt my Lord by refusing His call. He never turned away from me because of my refusal.
He has never forgotten me and has awakened my soul which was dead.
My wife and I have served the Lord in many places evangelizing and bringing souls to Him. She passed away to be with the Lord 2 years ago but still God gives me strength and has continued to use me for His glory. He has protected me in every way. He has given me His mercy and love. He always cares for me. My life is blessed and my children are married, settled and in God’s word and service. I am 62 years of age. God still uses me to preach and serve in the Grace Total Life Ministries church in my village and also to other places bringing souls to Christ. Please continue to pray for me and the work of the Lord in India.
